Get the stats right. Keep the conditions.
These are starting recommendations for Skirk’s established Freeze playstyles, rather than an account-specific damage ranking.
Your artifact priorities
- Sands
- ATK%
- Goblet
- Cryo DMG Bonus or ATK%
- Circlet
- CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
- Substats
- CRIT, then ATK%; avoid CRIT overcap
- Energy Recharge
- Not a useful resource stat for Skirk herself
- Talent priority
- Skill first for on-field play; Burst first for quickswap
Skirk’s Skill-state attacks scale with her Skill talent. Her Burst uses Serpent’s Subtlety rather than normal Energy. Sources: KQM and Prydwen.
Galleries or Marechaussee Hunter?
Finale of the Deep Galleries is the flexible baseline when you want one set that accommodates different Skirk playstyles.
Marechaussee Hunter is worth considering for an on-field Furina team that can maintain its stacks. Use it for sustained on-field attacks, not regular-Burst split or quickswap rotations. Its value depends on the rotation and how much CRIT Rate your weapon and other bonuses already provide.
Count effective CRIT Rate before changing your circlet. Marechaussee, a CRIT Rate sword and applicable Cryo Resonance can leave you with more CRIT Rate than you can use.
ATK% and Cryo goblets can trade places as team buffs change. Keep a strong existing piece while comparing the complete setup; do not farm a replacement solely because one universal list puts it first.
Check weapon and artifact balanceBuild the team, then the damage.
Keep the water-and-ice core
Skirk’s intended party bonuses reward compatible Hydro and Cryo teammates. Escoffier brings healing and resistance reduction; Furina brings a buff that needs the team’s health management to work. The fourth slot should solve a real job.
If you do not own the premium lineup, the team guide explains how to think about accessible Hydro/Cryo supports and what a replacement gives up.

Start with an attack string you can repeat. Check support uptime, resource management and your weapon passive before chasing a faster combo or another constellation.
The rotation guide separates Skirk’s two Burst modes and gives a practical order for investigating low damage.

Answers before your next upgrade.
Can I build Skirk without Escoffier?
Yes. Use Hydro/Cryo teammates that cover the buffs, application and sustain you need. Replacements do not reproduce all of Escoffier’s advantages; with Furina, reliable healing is especially important. Build around your available roster.
Mechanics reference: KQM.Why is my damage low with a good build?
Check party elements, talent levels, active CRIT bonuses, weapon conditions and the attacks you actually finish. A player’s recent rotation question illustrates why equipment alone does not settle the result. Work through the damage checklist.
Do I need Energy Recharge on Skirk?
No. Her Burst consumes Serpent’s Subtlety rather than Elemental Energy. Her teammates can still need Energy Recharge for their own Bursts. Official Version 5.7 update details.
