Pick the fourth teammate for a job, not a rarity.
Why the elements of all four teammates matter
Skirk receives important benefits from teammates applying Hydro and Cryo. Her party-wide Skill-level passive also has a Hydro-and-Cryo-only condition. Adding an unrelated element can therefore cost more than the replacement character appears to provide. Escoffier has a related incentive to keep the lineup within these two elements.
A recent player asked whether Baizhu could fill the final slot beside Skirk, Escoffier and Furina. The useful answer starts with the lost party conditions. A second healer is not automatically better than an available Hydro or Cryo teammate, especially when Escoffier already supplies healing.
Choose a core, then fill the missing job
| Your starting point | Practical direction | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Skirk + Escoffier + Furina | Add a suitable Hydro or Cryo damage dealer or buffer, such as Yelan or Mona | Furina energy, healing, buff timing and the fourth character’s field time. |
| Skirk + Furina, no Escoffier | Use a reliable Hydro/Cryo healer, then another compatible support | Furina’s health drain and team recovery; do not assume the premium team’s damage. |
| Skirk, no Furina or Escoffier | Start with available Hydro/Cryo options such as Xingqiu, Rosaria and a compatible sustain slot | Survivability, enough Hydro application and the sword’s passive. |
| Shielded Normal Attack Skirk | A compatible shielder can support an owned Eshu | Shield uptime, displaced support value and whether the team also needs healing. |
These are foundations rather than a ranking of every current team. Newer teammates can change the best fourth slot. Use this page to understand the jobs and restrictions; consult the current detailed sources before committing wishes to a particular premium lineup.
If you do not have Escoffier
You can still build a playable team. What you lose is the combination of healing, resistance reduction and personal damage that makes Escoffier unusually valuable to Skirk. Another character usually replaces only part of that package. Avoid describing the replacement as equivalent.
With Furina, start by finding adequate healing among the Hydro and Cryo characters you own. Charlotte, Mika and Hydro healers offer different field-time and buff tradeoffs. Without Furina, there is less pressure to select a healer specifically for her Fanfare, although Finale still has its own healing condition.
For an illustrative roster of Skirk, Xingqiu, Rosaria and Barbara, the party respects the elemental restriction and has sustain. That is a starting structure for an account with limited options, not a promise of a particular endgame clear. Level the required talents and equipment, then check whether the rotation and energy are comfortable.
Do the supports need new artifact sets?
Team buffs and personal damage compete for the same equipment slots. Golden Troupe can support off-field personal damage, while team buff sets may raise Skirk’s contribution. The best choice depends on who holds each set, buff uptime, the quality of your existing pieces and how much damage each character contributes.
A player on X was surprised that Escoffier might use Scroll rather than Golden Troupe. A separate Reddit player reported that their better Golden Troupe pieces outperformed their weaker Scroll pieces in their own test. Those posts establish the decision players face; neither proves a universal set ranking.
Keep your current pieces while checking the comparison. Use the same enemy, buffs, rotation and number of completed rotations. Compare the whole team when the decision affects everyone. Do not throw away a strong existing set because a generic list ignores its substats.
Common questions
Can Baizhu fill the fourth slot in Skirk, Escoffier and Furina?
He breaks the intended Hydro/Cryo party conditions. Start by considering the Hydro or Cryo characters you already own; with Escoffier present, extra healing may be less useful than a compatible buffer or damage dealer.

Not automatically. Check team buffs, current piece quality and rotation uptime. The set name alone does not settle a comparison between two different builds.
